Light to the Gentiles | The Law & God’s Witnesses
In the progressive & climactic conversion of the Jews, the dark night of universal sorrow will be awakened by the dawning joy of a new day.
All nations, like the forest of Lebanon, and all the beasts of the field thereof worldwide, are altogether insufficient for a burnt offering and, therefore, the people of earth are utterly incapable of attaining divine appeasement in and of themselves (Isa. 40:15-17). The national and regional opposition against the Kingdom of God in Babylon’s World, with all the princes and judges thereof, will be reduced to vanity and nothingness at the fiery blow of the consummation (Isa. 40:6-8, 23-24). Demonstrably, the Consuming Fire leaves no survivors except those who bow in submission (Ps. 2:10-12; Heb. 12:28-29). Vindictively, in an unparalleled divine assertion of national and worldwide dominion – in the accomplishing of a worldwide consumption in which “all flesh shall see it together” (Isa. 40:5) – the LORD punctuates His rule over mankind (Rev. 11:15-18, 15:3-4). Essentially, the LORD beckons the gaze of all men upward, saying, “To whom then will ye liken Me, or shall I be equal?” (Isa. 40:25). Save those who confess Jesus as Lord, none will dare to give an answer when all is said and done! Oh, sinner, shudder at the thought of being unprepared to face the dread Sovereign of the New World (Isa. 8:13, Rev. 1:7)!
“I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” – Isa. 45:23
What all men have heard about with their ears – specifically in that the LORD has come near to plead with all nations (“Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard…” – Isa. 40:28) – they’ll see it with their eyes and marvel at the divine exactitude of all things foretold (Isa. 40:21, 41:4, 22-24, 26-29, 42:9, 43:9-13, 44:7-8, 26, 45:4-6, 19, 21, 46:9-11, 48:3-7, 14-16, 66:2, 65:12, 66:4)! Unsurprisingly, in seeing it, the inhabitants of the world will confessedly believe it! Even the mouths of unconverted disbelievers will confess the undeniable in the conclusive moments of verbal combat leading up to Day 1,335.
“Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.” – Isa. 43:9 [Isa. 42:8-9]
Were not the same forcible methods put to good use in the 1st Advent (Jn. 4:48, 5:36, 10:25, 32, 38, 14:11)? Therefore, I ask, should we expect anything less in the 2nd Advent? Much more, in the 2nd Coming of Christ, so grand a sight is portrayed before mankind that, in beholding it, all men will “fear” – and, in fearing, all men will “rejoice with trembling” as they “glorify” the King who rules in Zion (Ps. 2:11), even as “all nations shall come and worship before [the Messiah]” (Rev. 15:4)! Why? Because a Light to the Gentiles illuminates all from sea to shining sea, according to the promise, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea” (Hab. 2:14, Isa. 11:9, Num. 14:21). How? Specifically speaking, through divine judgment a darkened world will be effectively awakened in the bright lights of illumination. For, did not the voice of reason rightly affirm,
“…for when Thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the Majesty of the LORD.” – Isa. 26:9-10
This is a hard truth to the twisted minds of depraved sinners (Prov. 14:6). How, except through judgment, will the happy sleepers of a nightmare regime wakeup to the frightening reality? Surely, these lovers of darkness will despise the harsh white lights of worldwide illumination (John 3:19-21), at least at first (Isa. 60:1-3). Yet, in the awakening – through judgment – the displeased survivors of Babylon’s World will weep and wail with strong crying and personal agony, the likes of which the world has never seen (Rev. 1:7). Then, with some time passing, men will learn patience under the sway of the majestic scepter – “a Rod of Iron” (Ps. 2:9, Rev. 2:27, 12:5, 19:15) – in the firm grip of the right hand of their new Ruler.
“…for Thy judgments are made manifest.” – Rev. 15:4
“Behold, My Servant…He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” – Isa. 42:1
“He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till He have set judgment in the earth: the isles shall wait for His Law.” – Isa. 42:4
“I the LORD have called Thee in righteousness, and will…give Thee for a Covenant of the people, for a Light of the Gentiles;” – Isa. 42:6
The rule of God in Christ will be luminously manifest to all in judgment (“See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh…” – Heb. 12:25); yet, not just in the consummation, merely, because amidst the consummation the LORD performs a consecration (Zech. 13:8-9) that is for a restoration (Jer. 30:1-31:40). Thus, let the reader understand, every divine act accomplished during the remaining 75 Days is a judgment. For, divine justice is unsatisfied at the consummation of Babylon without the restoration of Zion. Even so, at the consummation of evil there must be a restoration of good. Being interpreted (with the Namesake of God as priority), the finger of divine election points to the Jews (Rom. 9:21-24) as vessels of consecration amidst the fiery furnace of the consummation.
“For My Name's sake will I defer Mine anger, and for My praise will I refrain for thee [the Jews], that I cut thee not off. Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. For Mine own sake, even for Mine own sake, will I do it: for how should My Name be polluted? and I will not give My glory unto another. Hearken unto Me, O Jacob and Israel, My called; I am He; I am the first, I also am the last.” – Isa. 48:9-12 (Isa. 43:22-28) [Rom. 11:29, Zech. 13:8-9, Isa. 43:25, Ezek. 20:9, 14, 22, 44]
Thus, on behalf of God’s call to Abraham (“Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth…” – Isa. 41:9) the LORD is calling the Jews (Rom. 11:29). Unstoppably so, God is calling the Jews even while they are scattered to the ends of the earth as of Day 1,290 (Isa. 48:12)! In the regathering, which is for the restoration, the LORD will show the Jews the effectualness of this ancient calling; and, in showing the Jews the veracity of the ancient word (Isa. 41:20), the Gentiles will behold the Light of the World (Isa. 41:1, 5, 22-23, 26)! How? The totality of these judgments – the consummation, regathering, & restoration! – are the acts of the Messiah in fulfillment of ancient prophecy foretelling how “He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles” (Isa. 42:1-4). Thus, the beholding of these judgments is (Isa. 42:6-21), in other words, the beholding of the “Light of the Gentiles” (Isa. 42:6).
“Hearken unto Me, My people; and give ear unto Me, O My nation: for a Law shall proceed from Me, and I will make My judgment to rest for a light of the people. My righteousness is near; My salvation is gone forth, and Mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon Me, and on mine Arm shall they trust.” – Isa. 51:4-5
Explicitly stated, in the enforcement of God’s judgment the people will see light. Literally, the judgment is the light! A worldwide awakening so abrupt and pervasive that “every man” on earth will cast away his idols on this glorious day of light (Isa. 2:18, 20, 21:9, 31:6-7, 42:17)! For, the “Righteous Man from the East” in the ancient time (Isa. 41:1-7, 46:11), Cyrus (Isa. 44:24-45:17), whose typological messianic calling staggered the world of old (Isa. 41:5, 44:28, 45:5-6, 13-15, 46:9-11), has been eclipsed by “One from the North” (Isa. 41:25-42:21), Jesus of Nazareth (Isa. 41:27, 42:1-7, 50:4-9, 52:13-15, 53:1-12, 59:16-21), whose messianic glory far outshines the worldwide impact of how Cyrus overcame Babylon, liberated the Jews, and decreed their regathering & restoration from dispersion. Thus, in beholding Christ liberate the Jews from Babylon through judgment via the consummation (Isa. 42:7, 13-15), the onlooking Gentiles are made to behold the dawning “light” of a “new” day (Isa. 42:6-7, 10, Ps. 19:5) to wit the praises of a “new song” shall be sung “from the end of the earth” (Isa. 42:10)!
“Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.” – Isa. 41:22-24
“And the LORD shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there one LORD, and His Name one.” – Zech. 14:9
“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee [Cyrus], though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.” – Isa. 45:5-8 [Peace: Isa. 48:20-22, 55:12-13, 57:13-21]
Apparently, Jesus shouldered the prophetic burden committed to Cyrus who, by reason of his manhood, fell short of the prophetic call (Isa. 41:28, 50:2, 59:16, 63:5). Jesus is the prudent Servant of Jehovah (Isa. 52:13-15) who, by reason of His Manhood (Isa. 41:28, 50:2, 53:1-12, 59:16, 63:5), set in motion a reversal of the Adamic Fall (Isa. 2:2-4, 4:1-6, 11:1-9, 1 Cor. 15:21-22, 45, Rev. 5:1-14). By overcoming the onset of condemnation from its genesis (Rom. 5:12-7:6, Heb. 2:5-18), Jesus is championing an Adamic Restoration that includes both Jews and Gentiles. Through the power of an endless life of Manhood in glory and, therein, by an ongoing ministry in the 1st & 2nd Advents of Christ (the incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, enthronement, & 2nd Coming of Christ!), Jesus has engaged and is shouldering the prophetic words originally intended for Cyrus and all other lost causes of short-coming individuals throughout history (The Wherewithal to Fulfill Divine Foretelling).
Jews Experiencing Progressive Repentance unto Conversion
None can bear witness to this truth, except the Jews. Who else but they could know the historicity of these lost roles of Jewish History, or appreciate the sudden appearance of one Man, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, who successfully assumes the offices of all in the vacuum of pastime failures (Rev. 5:1-14)? Therefore, statedly, the Jews are God’s witnesses.
“Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no Saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.” – Isa. 43:9-12
Evidently, as the Jewish Scriptures bare witness (“Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and the last; I am He” - Isa. 41:4), Jesus lives to impeccably perform the divine fufillments of a foretold human redemption. Starting the argument, and finishing it, the LORD proves who is the first and the last (Isa. 41:4, 44:6, 48:12). In other words, what was said at first will be done at last. To the shock and astonishment of the world, the totality of what Isaiah beheld in Isaiah 24-66 is fulfilled, and not merely what was foretold concerning Cyrus and other historical entities. The voices of Jews will tell the story with the world as audience. Not for want of foretelling declarations (Isa. 48:1-7), but for want of understanding prophecy, mankind was mostly ignorant of what is to come (Isa. 29:9-14, Jer. 8:5-9). Therefore, the Jews, to whom God committed the Law (Rom. 9:4-5), will be astonished at their own blindness in reading the Law throughout the ages (Isa. 42:18-20); yet, in being the most acquainted with prophecy (Rom. 9:4-5), and at last being converted, they will be witnesses to what God foretold of old (Isa. 43:9-12, 48:1-7).
“…Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the Covenants, and the giving of the Law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.” – Rom. 9:4-5
“The LORD is well pleased for His righteousness’ sake; He will magnify the Law, and make it honourable.” – Isa. 42:21
In saving the Jews, the LORD is intent upon making the Law honourable in the sight of all mankind (Isa. 42:21). In out-doing the old in the performance of the new in the sight of all (Isa. 40:5, 49:6, 52:10, 66:16, 23), or, in foretelling & accomplishing the evil and the good (Isa. 41:22-24, 45:7), or, in raising up Babylon (for the Great Tribulation) and casting her down (in the consummation), and, in casting down the Jews (in the Great Tribulation) and raising them up (in the regathering & restoration), the LORD will be known as “the God of the whole earth” (Isa. 54:5). The LORD knows exactly how to win the heart of all wayward and despondent Jews worldwide. That’s exactly why Jehovah brought upon the Jews the likes of Babylon in the first place. Thus, in the Great Tribluation (Isa. 46:9-11), the Jewish idolaters of Babylon’s World will lose faith in idolatry for shear bewilderment at their experience of utter abandonment. The Jews, who were the happy hopefuls to be Queen of Babylon, who practiced great harlotry with the Beast as he coveted a throne setup in Jerusalem (Rev. 16:10-11, 17:1-7, 18), were thrust from their place of “peace” and “safety” into “great tribulation” (1 Thess. 5:3, Dan. 12:1, Matt. 24:21).
Being thus humbled in the Great Tribulation (Micah 7:7-10, 15-20), it was just the beginning. For, the small quantity of Jews who repented and were converted to Christ during the Great Tribulation via the ministry of the Two Witnesses & the Gentile Church were, along with all other Christians, raptured at the sounding of the 7th Trumpet. Thus, at around Day 1,263, all remaining Jews were not only unconverted but the vast majority of them were hardened, impenitent, and far from the Kingdom. This, of course, was foreknown by God, therefore He scheduled their repentance and conversion during the following 75 Days of Great & Terrible Glory from Day 1,260 to Day 1,335. The overwhelming impenitence of the Jews does not nullify the ministry of the Gentile Church or the Two Witnesses (Rom. 9:6-8), who were no doubt raised up as witnesses to the Jews (Rom. 11:30-32). Rather, this sets the stage for a never-before-seen verbal argument on the World Stage instigated by God in the final 75 Days of the earth’s existence as we know it. Why? Because a primary objective of the Two Witnesses & the Gentile Church was to unmask the true face of Babylon and forewarn both Jews & Gentiles of her coming demise at the end of the 70th Week of Daniel.
“Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being His counsellor hath taught Him? With whom took He counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge, and shewed to Him the way of understanding?” – Isa. 40:13-14 [Rom. 11:33-36]
Unsurprisingly, this was God’s plan all along. Therefore, after the rapturous blast of the 7th Trumpet, perhaps some Jews will begin repenting; and, they will do so by recollecting the testimony of the Two Witnesses (Rev. 11:1-19, Isa. 44:26). For, there will be ample time for recollection and sober reflection during the Outpouring of the Vials prior to the 2nd Advent War. However, certainly, upon the 7th Vial (the beginning of the 2nd Advent War), the Jews residing in Jerusalem at the treading of the Winepress will be the first of the Hebrews to begin repenting before their estranged Messiah (Zechariah 12:8-14, 14:1-3). Then, just before the Battle turns worldwide (namely, upon the hearing of the proclamations & pleas of divine argumentation), it is safe to say that some or most of the dispersed Hebrews will begin repenting (Isa. 25:9, 26:7-11, 33:2), and perhaps even a minority of Jews will completely repent unto conversion. Nevertheless, according to Holy Scripture (which pinpoints the actual scenario of mass Jewish Conversion), it is important to understand that the majority of penitent Jews are having infantile repentances at this point, which means that their repentances must grow to the point of actual conversion; but, this much is sure: in beginning to repent, and travailing therein (Isa. 26:16-19, 66:1-2, Jer. 30:5-7, 31:18), they posture themselves to desire, remember, and wait upon the God of Israel.
“…Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us:” – Isa. 25:9
“Yea, in the way of Thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for Thee; the desire of our soul is to Thy Name, and to the remembrance of Thee.” – Isa. 26:7-11 [Isa. 63:7-64:5]
“O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for Thee: be Thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.” – Isa. 33:2
In the early days of the appointed 75 (Dan. 12:11-12), perhaps the minority of completely penitent (and freshly converted) Jews are affecting the majority of incompletely penitent Jews. Therefore, those who are embracing the divine judgment at hand while justifying God in it (Micah 7:7-20, Isa. 50:10-51:11), even before it comes to full fruition (Isa. 63:7-64:5), are strongly affecting their Jewish Peers insomuch that they, though incompletely, have like sentiments. Thus, the repentant Jews will endeavor to wait it out by hiding themselves from the dangerous consumption of divine wrath (Isa. 26:20-21). Hardly surviving, they will live for majestically purposeful reasons of moral protocol! Meanwhile, on the contrary, other Jews will remain stubbornly impenitent to their own demise. Why? Because, in reality, a legitimate annihilation of the Jews was underway (Isa. 1:21-31, 4:3-4, 48:8-12, 65:1-16, Ezek. 3:17-21, 18:19-32, 33:1-20)! Due warning of the need to endure was given, in the words,
“Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” – Dan. 12:12
“…Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” – Rev. 16:15
Later in the exercise, in the aftermath of Day 1,290, the completely repentant minority will be joined by all living Hebrew survivors, specifically because all stubbornly impenitent Hebrews theretofore will have died off or been burned up in the fiery consummation (Zech. 13:8-9). For their refusal to repent and wait upon God (Dan. 12:12, Rev. 16:15), two thirds of all Jews will die (Zech. 13:8-9, Ezek. 39:6-7). All repentings heretofore, however infantile, will be brought to maturity upon liberation (Ezek. 34:22-31, 39:17-29). Thus, in the Treacherous Journey, during a shocking reversal of things, all living Jews will “wait upon the LORD” (Isa. 40:31) by turning from wickedness to righteousness (Isa. 55:1-7, 59:16-60:3) to the astonishment of the Gentiles insomuch that many scores of them will join the Jews in conversion to the Messiah (Isa. 55:5, 44:5, 4:1, 65:1-16; The Doctrine of the Good Figs & Evil Figs: Jer. 24:1-10, Jer. 29:1-32, Ezek. 1:2-3:21; Jerusalem is Deceived & Doomed to Annihilation: Ezek. 3:22-7:27, Ezek. 8:1-11:25, Ezek. 12:1-16, Ezek. 12:17-13:23, Ezek. 18:1-32, Ezek. 20:1-21:32). In this climactic moment of judgment via a sudden and supernatural restoration during the regathering in the aftermath of the consummation (Isa. 51:4-11), the world is made to behold the moral justice of God in the giving of peace to the righteous and the withholding it from the wicked (Isa. 48:20-22, 55:12-12, 57:13-21). Marvelously, if you can believe it, this is just the beginning. This new birth of the Jews is a dawning light that will continue to rise in brighteness and glory captivating the world for a thousand years!
“Therefore My people shall know My Name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth Good Tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth Good Tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The LORD hath made bare His Holy Arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.” – Isa. 52:6-12
The expressed means by which Christ does become “a Light to the Gentiles” (Isa. 49:6; 51:4-11) is in becoming the Savior of the Jews (“to bring Jacob again to [God]” – Isa. 49:5, “to raise up the tribes of Jacob” – Isa. 49:6, “to restore the preserved of Israel” – Isa. 49:6). God is in hot pursuit of the Jews (“the lawful captive” - Isa. 49:24, “the captive exile” - Isa. 51:14, “captive daughter” - Isa. 52:2), and what He does to liberate, regather, and restore them will illumate the world with light! In beholding the stunning accuracy of divine foretelling, the Jews are rendered unable to blaspheme (Isa. 48:1-11); and, in being effectually converted through this critically important divine witness, the Jews are compelled to sing and jubilantly declare the foretold story “even to the end of the earth” (Isa. 48:20-22)! When the Jews prepared their heart to wait upon the LORD for the performance of His word against all odds, none were disappointed.
“Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” – Isa. 51:11
“…and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me.” – Isa. 49:23
In other words, the Gentiles will be converted because the Jews are converted. Literally, in watching the Jews get converted and glorified (Isa. 46:13, 55:5, 60:2, 9, 21, 61:3), mass quantities of the Gentiles will get converted (Isa. 60:5). The Gentiles will be so aware of what is happening and why it is happening (“…all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob” – Isa. 49:26), they will physically help bring the Jews back to God by carrying their sons and daughters in their arms and on their shoulders (Isa. 49:22-23). In seeing the light and comprehending the call, a great flurry of men will scramble to help the Jews worldwide, all as a result of the shocking things that Christ will say and do in regathering the Jews to Jerusalem (Isa. 11:10-12, 52:11-12, 57:13-14, 62:10).
“And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse [Christ], which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” – Isa. 11:10-12
“Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.” – Isa. 52:11-12
“…he that putteth his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit My holy Mountain; And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of My people.” – Isa. 57:13-14
“Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.” – Isa. 62:10
The “ensign” of the Messiah is simply irresistible (Isa. 11:10-12). Therefore, the Messianic call for a regathering (Isa. 52:11-12, 57:13-14, 62:10) becomes a concerted effort among the heathen. Literally, necessity is upon them. The Jews are the only source of life & strength (Rom. 11:15). For the “gross darkness” that is upon the heathen, and for the “glory” of “light” and “brightness” that is shining upon the Jews and “seen” by the Gentiles (Isa. 60:1-3), the nations of the world will rush to employ themselves in service to the Jews (“For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.” – Isa. 60:12). The badmouth and obstinate peoples of Babylon’s World will come bowing and bending to the Jews (Isa. 49:23, 60:14). In the Captivitiy, the Jews will have suffered great loss (Zech. 13:8-9); in “removing to and fro” they will have become largely “desolate” of children (Isa. 49:21). Yet, in the conversion of the Gentiles during the regathering the Jewish Family will be unexpectedly enlarged (Isa. 49:14-26).
“Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.” – Isa. 49:22
In response to the clarion call of Christ, the Gentiles will come. In beholding the thronging masses which flow together unto the Jews – insomuch that “the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto [them]” (Isa. 60:5, 11:10, 51:5) – the Jews will marvel, saying, “Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? And who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?” (Isa. 49:21). At the mass conversion of Gentiles worldwide (Isa. 65:1) in the aftermath of losing many Jews (Zech. 13:8-9, Isa. 65:2-12), it will suddenly become apparent that the Gentiles are come to fill the room of the fallen Jews (Rom. 11:19); thus, in accordance to what was written, “a nation that was not called by [God’s] name” (Isa. 65:1) is suddenly an inheritor of the “name” of the God of Israel (Isa. 65:15-16). In the ripple effect of resounding glory and fame worldwide, even among those of distant parts or islands which have not seen what others have seen (Isa. 66:18-19), the submissive yet unconverting Gentiles (hoping for futher divine appeasement) will hastily bring all converting Gentiles as an “offering” to the LORD (Isa. 66:20-21).
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a Light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be My Salvation unto the end of the earth.” – Isa. 49:6 [Acts 13:47]
“Even unto them will I give in Mine House and within My walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to My holy Mountain, and make them joyful in My House of Prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for Mine House shall be called an House of Prayer for all People. The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.” – Isa. 56:5-8
What shall become of these converting Gentiles among this mighty entourage that ushers the Jews back to Jerusalem? In this extraordinary time of divine pleading, namely in that the God of the Universe has come near to all nations (Isa. 56:1), the formerly hopless eunuchs & strangers will inherit “a name better than of sons and of daughters” in converting to Christ (Isa. 55:5). In other words, the converting Gentiles will become virtually indistinguishable from the Jews. “Even them” (Isa. 56:7), the Spirit of Prophecy signifies! Statedly, according to Isaiah 49:6, it belittles the Person of Christ that only the Jews would be saved in the regathering and restoration of the dispersed Israelites; then, what is herein performed might be called a Light to the Jews rather than a “Light to the Gentiles” (Isa. 49:6).
Explicitly, Isaiah 56:7 speaks of the diversity of nationalities attending and praying within the Temple of the Millennial Reign – resorting thereto – rather than the attendees thereof praying for all nations within the House. Though, surely, the latter will be happening, it is not the explicit emphasis of the prophecy.
On the contrary, we’re told that Christ will save a mighty company of converting Gentiles worldwide in the salvific acts performed on behalf of the Jews when He will “raise up the tribes of Jacob” and “restore the preserved of Israel” (Isa. 49:6). Thus, in raising up & restoring the Jews, and most notably in their conversion during the Treacherous Journey, “salvation” will be extended “unto the end of the earth” and herein, definitively, Jesus will become a “Light to the Gentiles” (Isa. 49:6). Therefore, according to Isaiah 56:5-8, the LORD’s expressed intention in bringing Gentile strangers to Jerusalem is that they would stand within and pray unto the God of Israel as Priests & Ministers (Isa. 61:6, 66:21) in the soon-to-be built Temple of the Millennial Reign. The Lord’s desired haven for these strange inheritors of a new name is, statedly, “in Mine House and within My walls” (Isa. 56:5), for the expressed purpose that, “Mine House shall be called an House of Prayer for all People” (Isa. 56:7, Mk. 11:17). This famed accomplishment will be known by all nations insomuch that they will call the Temple a “House of Prayer for all People”, when before it was known to be a House of Prayer for the Jews. In referencing it, thus shall they speak of it; in identifying it, thus shall they call it, not the House of Prayer for the Jews to attend, only, but for all People!
Break Forth into Singing
The more the world illuminates with light – increasingly with the conversion of the dispersed Jewish Pilgrims – the creation directly about them will rejoice in “the glorious liberty of the Children of God” (Rom. 8:21). For, remember, at the Fall of Mankind creation was cursed (Gen. 3:17, 5:29). Moreover, at the opening of the Bottomless Pit, marking the birth of Spiritual Babylon, fallen humanity’s brazen estate of animalistic immorality was at its worst resulting in far greater curses, all of which culminated in the consummation (Rev. 8:13, 12:12; Zech. 5:3, 11, Isa. 24:5-6, 43:28, Mal. 4:1). Thus, at the Fall of Mankind the liveliness of creation was significantly reduced via a universal curse; and, at the Fall of Babylon the life of creation was consumed by fire in an almost universal death (Isa. 24:5-6); so that, finally, in the salvation of the Jews, the LORD would be the more glorified in bringing a dead ecosystem to life again (Rom. 11:15)! Truly, this is a cause of song & rejoicing with joy unspeakable and full of glory!
“Sing unto the LORD a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare His praise in the islands.” – Isa. 42:10-12
No location will be exempt from the sounds of new songs! Interruptively, the eruption of happiness will deter the sorrow of weepers who mourn the loss of the consummation. For, while the world is restless and weary in a seeming untamable chaos of destruction, the newly converted dispersed voyagers will be conduits of life-giving transformation in every location they travel. If not instantaneously, then eventually, all peoples of all places will be forced to react at the sights and sounds of this new thing (Isa. 42:9, 43:19, 48:6, Jer. 31:22): the sailors of the sea, the inhabiters of the islands, the voyagers of the wilderness, the lodgers in rocky caves or on mountain tops, or the residents of landmark cities & villages along the journey, no one can resist the urge to “sing”, “praise”, or “shout” at the happy occasion unfolding before their eyes (Isa. 42:10-12)! For, indeed, what has befallen the Jews does benefit all! Literally, as if creation itself is consciously rejoicing at the arrival of wayfaring Jews,
“Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.” – Isa. 44:23
“Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.” – Isa. 49:13
“Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.” – Isa. 48:13
When the Creator speaks, creation responds (Ps. 33:5-9)! After all, at its genesis, the LORD spoke the world into existence (Genesis 1-3)! Even so, demonstrably, as depicted in Isaiah 44:23 & 49:13, the LORD is verbally calling unto creation to arise from the dead and applaud the redemption of Israel! Herein, the LORD is utilizing the power by which He created the world for the making of a new creation (Isa. 41:20, 45:8, 48:7). Observably, every aspect of the wasted scenery responds in a standing ovation (Isa. 55:12-13)! The heavens above, the earth below, the mountains about, and the forests abroad “stand up together” at the “call” of Christ (Isa. 44:23, 49:13, 48:13)! Evidently, the powers of resurrection do shine like light round about & upon the voyaging Jews (Isa. 35:1-2); for, “what sall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?” (Rom. 11:15). In the natural, the darkest night is right before the dawn of light! Yet, in this unnatural occasion, the deadest landscape will suddenly explode into life to celebrate the joyous and long-awaited moment arriving in the region (Rom. 8:19-23)!
“For [the Jews] shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” – Isa. 55:12-13 [Isa. 44:18-19]
This is a new kind of singing! Not that which resounded in the fires of consummation (Isa. 25:13-16), but that which is awakened in the liveliness of the restoration (Isa. 26:19)! This “joy” & “peace” of the travelling Jews, coupled with the celebration of creation round about, is an unprecedented estate of happiness unexperienced since before the Fall of Mankind (Isa. 55:12)! With sin came a curse, and with sin and the curse of creation Mankind was made to “sorrow”, as God said,
“…cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” – Gen. 3:17-19
According to Isaiah 55:12-13 & 51:3, the liveliness of the new creation is restored to its former glory before the Fall of Mankind (Job 38:7). Thus, Isaiah is careful to say, “instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree” (Isa. 55:13)! The wretchedness of the “Wilderness” & deadness of the “Desert” will suddenly blossom into a comfortable and joyous place of gladness and thanksgiving (Isa. 51:3), even as Adam & Even walked in the cool of the day in “the Garden of the LORD” of old, called “Eden”. This is the “joy” and “peace” enjoyed by Jewish Piligrims as they are en route home (Isa. 55:12-13) insomuch that utopian highways of happiness are left in the wake of their path (Isa. 35:1-10)! These flourishing highways of life will comfortably feed its wayfarers with “every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food” (Gen. 2:8-9), just like “Eden” (Isa. 51:3), and yet, marvelously, “no lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast” (Isa. 35:9)!
The mere beholding of these salvific acts is unimaginable (Isa. 64:4), while the joy and rejoicing that accompanies them is unthinkable (Ps. 48:2); yet, such and such can be measured in the impact these events have upon the world beholden to them: namely, as vast quantities of Gentiles are savingly converted (“…on Mine Arm shall they trust” – Isa. 51:4-5) to wit their experiential “rest” is exceedingly “glorious” (Isa. 11:10-12) insomuch that Jerusalem becomes “a praise in the earth” (Isa. 60:15, 62:7), even as all nations do forcibly bow and confess Christ’s Lordship (Isa. 45:23) and patiently wait for His Law (Isa. 42:4)! Surely, surely, these are the days wherein the unimaginable and unthinkable are enjoyed by the redeemed (1 Cor. 2:9, Isa. 64:4)! Thus, amidst the melodious celebration worldwide, the direct beneficiaries of these blessings will be the loudest voices of all (“with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth” – Isa. 48:20, 62:11)! Thus shall “one” declaratively say, “in the LORD have I righteousness and strength”, and “even to him shall men come” in wonder and admiration (Isa. 45:24, 2 Thess. 1:10); for, it was written, “they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles” (Isa. 66:19)! Yea, and “all nations” shall behold the spectacle of these newborn righteous men declaring God’s praise (Isa. 61:10-11; Isa. 45:8)!
The Jews who weren’t dispersed from Jerusalem in the Great Tribulation (Zech. 14:1-2), now awaiting the return of their kindred, will sing for joy at the sight of Jewish Pilgrims on the horizon, saying, “Open ye the Gates that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in” (Isa. 12:2)! Upon arriving, the regathered Jews will joyfully “declare [God’s] doings among the people” (Isa. 12:4, Jer. 50:28), exclaiming, “this is known in all the earth” (Isa. 12:5, 52:15), even as the inhabitants of Zion do spontaneously “cry”and “shout” for the Holy One of Israel in the midst of them (Isa. 12:6)! The moral purity of this beautiful people is the most compelling sight of all!
"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.” – Isa. 61:10-11
For the righteousness of “the wayfaring men”, lifeless creation resurrected with them (Ps. 107:32-43, Isa. 35:1-10, 45:8, Cor. 15:53-57, Rom. 11:15), and for the righteousness of these pilgrims the Gates of Jerusalem do open wide to receive them (Isa. 26:2, 52:1-2)! Likewise, for their cleanliness did the converting traveler’s stride upon the Highway of Holiness (Isa. 35:8-10), and for their cleanliness did the Holy City welcome them home (Isa. 52:1-2)! For, as a decked-out Bridgroom rejoices over a fully adorned Bride in the purity of Marriage, even so shall the physical and spiritual Jews become the rejoicing of Christ as they share in His righteousness (“THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” – Jer. 23:6, 33:16; Jer. 51:10); thus, upon the sojourners reaching their final destination, then shall Jerusalem’s “righteousness” shine as “brightness” and “the salvation thereof as a Lamp that burneth” (Isa. 62:1-7)!
