Joy for Mourning!
The mourning of those who’ve been impoverished under divine affliction precedes the richest comfort of beatific joy.
There is more to the Call than what has been surveyed thus far. Truly! But (let the reader understand), the additional appeals made in the Call will simply go unappreciated if one doesn’t understand the magnitude of things heretofore. Namely, how the LORD made the demonically courageous Armies of Babylon to cry aloud and weep in the Shaking & during the Winepress, or how the LORD forced the proud and undaunted brow of Babylonian Soldiers to hide in the holes of the earth and the caves of the mountains during the Worldwide Battle of the Armies of Heaven. Astonishingly, it’s all for the Jews.
The Jews are the spoils of war, and yet, they too were needfully humbled in these events; not that they were on the battlefields in opposition against the Lord’s fiery descent, for they were the unwilling Captives of Babylon’s World, but had the Jews been given a premature liberation before the amounting of salvific acts proving to be profoundly Jewish according to Holy Scripture, come Day 1,290 they would be weeping in worldly sorrow alongside the rest of unconverted mankind. Yet, because the salvific acts on display worldwide were signaturely in accordance with what was foretold by the Jewish Prophets of old, they will know that the advent of this King is none other than the Messiah of the Jews. Thus, in the fateful moment of triumph on Day 1,290, which is the hour when all kindreds wail, lo and behold: the family of the Jews will be weeping under compulsion by the Spirit of God to wit, not too many days hence, all will be gloriously converted (Joel 2:32, Zech. 12:10-14, 13:9; Isa. 30:19, 32:15, 44:3-4)!
While all the other families of the earth will have wept themselves into a forced submission, the Jews will be weeping into the glory of conversion! Literally, upon conversion to Christ, which results in a regeneration, their weeping will be turned into rejoicing! In terms of Isaiah 61:1-3, the LORD will give them “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, [and] the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (John 14:1, 27, 16:33)! Why? For the sights seen and the sounds heard up until Day 1,290, all will be reduced to weeping! And, for the sights seen and the sounds heard up until Day 1,335, the Jews will be converted!
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach Good Tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” – Isa. 61:1-3
So, what is it that will give the Jews joy for mourning? Undoubtedly, the essential turning point will take place at their conversion (“…believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” – 1 Pet. 1:8); this much we know. Notwithstanding, the question is: how will the hard-hearted Jews of this generation come to the point of conversion? This question is the focal point of our study henceforth as we look into the events of Day 1,290 to Day 1,335; and, be sure of this, a brief consultation of Isaiah 61:1-3 will not yield the answer. For the discovery of this answer one must search the totality of Isaiah’s prophecies. Isaiah 61:1-3 is but a small snippet of the whole story foretold, thus it must be viewed within the greater scheme of things declared from Isaiah 24 to Isaiah 66.
The burden conveyed, here called the greater scheme of things in which Isaiah 61:1-3 has but a small part, is Isaiah’s Historically Transcendent End-time Burden unveiling the latter events of the Last Days. For, verily, unlike any other prophet (only comparable to the Apostle John per the Book of Revelation), the eyeballs of Isaiah are fixed on things which transcend history & consummate in futurity. Literally, as if he witnessed the events in bodily presence as they will unfold within time, Isaiah simply describes what he sees and hears; and, as is often the case with firsthand witnesses of realtime events, Isaiah isn’t short on things to say in description of the same events from various vantage points. How could he be? Thus, with a commanding use of terminology, Isaiah testifies of furturity unabashed of its apparent complexity to the inexperienced hearer. Nor should he be!
Amazingly, Isaiah is mostly occupied with things that will take place after the outpouring of the 7th Vial (Rev. 16:17-21); and, without the aid of the New Covenant and the Book of Revelation, I cannot begin to imagine what Isaiah understood concerning the things he was made to see and utter in prophecy (1 Pet. 1:10-11). Truly! For, unlike any other prophet, Isaiah’s prophecies look into the events of the last 45 Days leading into the End; and, that, for nearly 35 Chapters of almost nonstop cohesive prophesying! Why? For a staggering display of foresight that unveils the ongoing sequence of events taking place from Day 1,290 to Day 1,335. Thus, our objective is simply this: with all things considered (according to Isaiah), what will bring about this momentous occasion of joy for mourning?
“Is any merry? let him sing psalms.” – James 5:13
This is to ask, in other words, what will cause the Jews to go from weeping to singing (Isa. 5:1, 12:2, 5, 14:7, 24:13-16, 26:1-6, 19, 27:2-11, 30:29, 35:2, 6, 10, 38:20, 42:10-11, 44:23, 48:20, 49:13, 51:3, 11-12, 52:8-9, 54:1, 55:12-13, 65:14)? For, remember, in the aftermath of the Winepress the Jews will be mourning in bitterness at the sight of Jesus of Nazareth (Zech. 12:10-14). Likewise, in the aftermath of the 2nd Advent War (even after the scattered Jews are liberated from Babylon), it was written of them that they would set their faces towards Jerusalem and begin their voyage “weeping” as they go (Jer. 50:4-8). Or, in another place, it was said of the returning remnant of the Jews that “they shall come with weeping, and with supplications…” (Jer. 31:8-9) while making their way to Zion. Remember, my reader? …All kindreds wail! Thus, if a steady roar of crying and weeping does fill the world with noise as all the kindreds of the earth do wail on Day 1,290, what soon-to-be event of the next 45 days does clothe the Jews with the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness?
The Wickedness of the Jews in the Last Days
Surely, the Jews deserve to weep and howl in a joyless existence for the whole duration of the next 45 Days, and thereafter, seeing that they were found worthy of the title, “the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth” (Rev. 17:5). Remember? According to Isaiah, this rotten Vine warranted judgment (Isa. 5:1-25). This unbelieving people needed the likes of robbers & captors for company (Isa. 30:1-17, 31:1-3). Hence, for their spiritual drunkenness and proud mockery (Isa. 28:7-22), God gave them sobriety & sackcloth! The fearless sleepers (Isa. 29:9-14) needed a violent wakeup call! For their inability to hearken (Isa. 42:18-25) and their refusal to call upon God for the weariness of it (Isa. 43:8, 22-28), and for their persistent refusal to look unto their Maker (Isa. 45:9-10, 20), the LORD was exceedingly wroth with the Jews (Isa. 47:6-7) and for the most of them it would have been better that they had not been born (Zech. 13:8-14:2)!
An unhappy God makes for an unhappy people. The infidelity of the Jews was such that God wanted a divorce (Isa. 49:14, 50:1-3). For their lies they deserved loud rebukes (Isa. 63:7-10, 57:1-14) and for their insincerity and unfaithfulness they deserved divine repudiation (Isa. 58:1-7, 59:1-16). For their hardness they deserved the hammer (Isa. 63:15-18) and for their uncleanness they deserved the fiery brook (Isa. 64:5-12). For their treachery, in that they couldn’t tolerate the presence of true Jews (Isa. 66:3-5), they were intolerable to God (Isa. 65:2-7) and deserving of the burning Lake (Isa. 66:17). Even so, if ever there was ever a hell-deserving generation of Jews …this was it!
Divine Rearrangement
“Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.” – Rom. 9:18
Indeed, how will these hell-bent covenanters (Isa. 28:15) ever end up relinquishing their practical atheism (Isa. 29:15) and become truly converted? This change of heart is nothing short of the LORD granting sight to the blind (Isa. 29:18, 35:5, 42:7, 16, 43:8) & hearing to the deaf (Isa. 29:18, 35:5, 42:18-19, 43:8), but how will it happen? Can the exact moment be identified? My reader, Isaiah tells the story. Specifically, from Isaiah 24-66, the reader is conducted throughout the thickening plot of these complex events of futurity with captivating detail. Isaiah, as a foreseeing onlooker, records what he sees and hears in the increasingly volatile exchanges between men and God. From beginning to end, in a staggering display of verbal combat, the vertical and horizontal exchanges are contrastingly rearranged insomuch that, behold:
Isaiah rehearses the plot of these things surveying the events from Day 1,260 to Day 1,290 and onward like no other prophet does save John the Revelator; and, of course, our interest at this point in our study pertains to the events of Day 1,290 to Day 1,335.
The Jews, openly displaying their defiance of the God of Israel, will say, “We have made a Covenant with death and with hell are at agreement…” (Isa. 28:15), only later to confess the contrary as they come into the bond of an Everlasting Covenant of Salvation (Isa. 59:20-21). The Jews, who will mockingly proclaim, “we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves” (Isa. 28:15), will later be made to yield to the divine appeal, “Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast” (Isa. 26:20). These despiteful abusers of the prophets, who will say to them, “Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits” (Isa. 30:10), will later be made to yield to the prophetic Messengers of the LORD (Isa. 43:9-15). Even so, the same men who said, “cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us” (Isa. 30:11), will later be humbled insomuch that they will “rejoice in the Holy One of Israel” (Isa. 29:19).
The unclean lips of Jewish Idol Worshippers, who said unto molten images, “Ye are our gods” (Isa. 42:17), even while maintaining a pretentious faith in Jehovah (Isa. 48:1-2), will at last be made to honestly confess to the God of Israel, saying, “O LORD, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy Name; for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth” (Isa. 25:1). The misdirected prayers of Jews to graven images, saying, “Deliver me; for thou art my god” (Isa. 44:17), will later be redirected unto God in fervent and tearful prayers, at which time they will say, “The LORD is my God” (Zech. 13:9). The Hebrews, who impatiently scorned and steadfastly refused to wait upon God (Isa. 30:16), will at last become genuine seekers of the LORD insomuch that they say, “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us” (Isa. 25:9).
The filthy romance between the Jews and the Antichrist (“Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.” – Isa. 56:12; Rev. 17:1-6), whose seat will be established in Jerusalem, will turn into a nightmare of torments for 1,290 Days. The Jews who rashly refused the truth and cast out the prophets from Jerusalem (Isa. 66:5) will themselves be cast out from the City in the invasion of the Antichrist during the fateful hour foretold to be “the Days of Vengeance” (Lk. 21:22, Rev. 17:17, Zech. 13:8-14:2), or, “Jacob’s Trouble” (Isa. 59:7-11, 26:12-21, Jer. 30:5-7). Thus, the Jews will be numbered and nearly annihilated (Isa. 65:1-16, 57:16; Zech. 13:8-14:2) while remaining unconverted up until the time when they joined the chorus of worldwide weeping in the aftermath of the 2nd Advent War (Rev. 1:7); and, thereafter, at the mysterious point of conversion specifically identified by Isaiah and none other, the Jews will be given joy for mourning! How?
Well, my reader, observe: by the very same means, the idol worshipping Gentiles of Babylon’s World will strengthen themselves in their vain trust, each man saying to his neighbor, “Be of good courage” (Isa. 41:6-7), when later it shall be fulfilled in them that “a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats” (Isa. 2:20). The pinnacle of worldwide power in the Empire of Babylon, called, “The Lady of Kingdoms” (Isa. 47:5, Rev. 18:7), whose boast is, “I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children” (Isa. 47:8), and, “None seeth me” (Isa. 47:10), will later be made to weep and wail for their wickedness and idolatry (Isa. 41:1-7, 44:9-20, 45:9-10, 16, 20, 46:1-2, 5-8, 47:5, 7-8, 10; Rev. 1:7). Meanwhile, some surviving heathen peoples of the world will be converted in that “one man shall say, I am the LORD’s; and another shall call himself by the Name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the Name of Israel” (Isa. 44:5); yea, and all the peoples of earth will say to the Jews, “Surely God is in thee” (Isa. 45:14)! Thus, the surviving Babylonians who said to the Jews, “Bow down…” (Isa. 51:23), will at last be made to bow down to those whom they sorely mistreated insomuch that, it was written, “they shall bow down to [the Jews] with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet” (Isa. 49:23, 60:14). Moreover, these are the days when the surviving inhabitants of Babylon’s World will call Zion, “The City of the LORD, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel” (Isa. 60:14); and, thither shall all flesh come to worship the Messiah of the Jews (Isa. 66:23, 45:23) insomuch that Jerusalem will be a praise in all the earth (Isa. 62:7)!
Herein, in a staggering display of divine rearrangement, the at-odds peoples of the world in the Last Days (Jews & Gentiles) will go from riotous cheerfulness & sinful happiness to unimaginable misery, weeping, & mourning. Then, the worldwide chorus of weepers will be interrupted at the awakening of joy and rejoicing beginning with the conversion of the Jews! My reader, this is a joy and rejoicing unlike any since the world began. Creation itself will happily admire what is taking place from Day 1,290 to Day 1,335 in that God is giving the Jews joy for mourning (Rom. 8:19-22)! For, truly, “…what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?” (Rom. 11:15)!
“But go ye and learn what that meaneth…” – Matt. 9:13
“Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.” – 2 Tim. 2:7
Thus, I plead, let us take a closer look at the path plotted by our guide (Isaiah 24-66) as he leads us hereunto, for only then shall we come to appreciate the winsome glories of this final boulevard wherein every last living Jew will be effectually converted (and meanwhile creation liberated!) to the astonishment of the heathen worldwide. I bid the reader some pause in reflection upon these wonders. For, hardly a ransomed soul was made as the excellent and wise man, Daniel, and yet even he was denied the honor of searching out these things! Daniel asked, “How long shall it be to the END of these wonders?” (Dan. 12:6). The answers given him weren’t understood, nor were they satisfying, thus the prophet made another inquiry, saying, “O my Lord, what shall be the END of these things?” (Dan. 12:8). To this, the angel said, “Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the END” (Dan. 12:9). The angel was not saying that these wonders cannot be understood, but that they wouldn’t be understood until the time of the END; a time in which “none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand” (Dan. 12:10). Even so, it was written, “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days” (Dan. 12:12).
