Heaven Besieging Earth (the Vials)

The full volume of the wrath of God against Babylon, in Vials, consecutively and strategically poured out in the effect of a siege upon all of Earth’s inhabitants in hopes that the Babylonians would repent and surrender to Heaven’s invasion.

Evidently, beginning with the sounding of the 7th Trumpet, sometime around day 1,263, the “signs” of the coming of the Son of Man were manifesting (Matt. 24:29-31, Lk. 21:25-28, Mk. 13:24-27) but how quickly it all happens, we know not. As it has been heretofore proven, considerable amounts of time were expended in Christ’s circuiting of the earth for the within-sight rapturing of all saints worldwide, and, more time is expected to be spent for the display of majestic splendor in that a Throne is set in Earth’s Sky (hence the exacting of all divine threats towards backslidden saints worldwide). Albeit, even if 7 days will pass in the happening of the aforementioned, that leaves around 19 more days until the crushing defeat of the Antichrist & Babylon at day 1,290. Adding more plot and detail to what Christ called, the “signs” of the coming of the Son of Man (Matt. 24:29-31, Lk. 21:25-28, Mk. 13:24-27), the Book of Revelation expounds these “signs” calling them “the seven last plagues” (Rev. 15:1). According to Revelation 16:1-21, the quantified volume of maximum destruction is hereby released upon Babylon’s World through the outpouring of the 7 vials filled with God’s wrath! This is a totalitarian grab of power that signals the arrival of an otherworldly, omnipotent, and angry KING on Earth’s Skyline (Matt. 24:30, 26:64, Rev. 15:1-8, 19:1-6)!

“…Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and Thy wrath is come…” – Rev. 11:17-18

“…Thy judgments are made manifest” – Rev. 15:4

The happy merrymaking of Babylon’s World, rejoicing at the death of the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:10), is interrupted by the angry countenance of a divine and unstoppable KING! He, being enthroned in their very sight on Earth’s Skyline, and with the redeemed men of every age gathered thereto in star-like bodies of brilliance, one would expect this to be the time when all the Kings of the Earth do shout and cry, “hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the Throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb” (Rev. 6:16), but this time is not yet! It is still too early for war. The wrath of God will be infuriated to the utmost pitch, and then comes war! So, at the outpouring of the 1st Vial, the voluminous wrath of God is just beginning to fall.

And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” – Rev. 16:2

Like the botch of Egypt that forbade the Magicians to the stand before Moses (Deut. 28:27, Ex. 9:8-12), the Lamb of God will not suffer Babylon’s stout impenitence and unbowed countenance to abide before Him as is. The enthroned Christ could force the kneel of every worldling of earth by one gesture of His hand (Rom. 14:11, Php. 2:10), but Jesus of Nazareth would hope to turn the unyielding will to repentance if it were possible (Ezek. 18:32, 23, Lam. 3:33, 36, Lk. 20:13, 19:41-44, 13:34-35, Isa. 5:1-5, Lk. 13:6-9, Mk. 11:12-21, Matt. 21:33-46, Zeph. 3:7). So, the hand gestures a more calculated enactment of divine wrath like that which came upon the Philistines when they unwittingly stood before the Throne of God on earth, the Ark (1 Sam. 5:1-12). At such a time, it was written, “the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them”, resulting in the people being smitten with “emerodes” (1 Sam. 5:6). At this the Philistines repented, like the Egyptians should have, and this much is hoped for on behalf of Babylon’s World. As further aid, the 2nd & 3rd Vials:

And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.” – Rev. 16:3

And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because Thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.” – Rev. 16:4-7

For Babylon’s World of Nations in this circumstance, repentance would mean a surrendering of oneself to an invading Attacker. In so doing, Babylon would be admitting to the superiority of the invading Kingdom. As is often the case, many nations refuse to surrender to their invaders and as such, a siege begins. In terms of earthly warfare, this means that the City is surrounded and thereby severed from replenishing its sustenance of food and water. Being effectively sieged, a famine begins. The people are weakened by starvation and dehydration, the weak and elderly begin to die, bodies go unburied, disease begins to spread, and at last the City is forced to surrender or die in battle. With this strategic art of warfare in mind we can understand what strategy is employed by God in hopes that Babylon will surrender. In other words, this is Heaven besieging Earth! For, at the finish of the 2nd & 3rd plagues the inhabitants of the earth have no sea water or freshwater left to drink that isn’t poisoned rotten by death like the rotting blood of a human carcass. Moreover, the food source of fish is also hereby wasted, but the emphasis is on the poisoning of the drinking water. The angel praises the righteousness of God in that, he said, “Thou hast given them blood to drink” (Rev. 16:6). Now, with grievous sores upon the body and the stink of poisoned waters filling the air, and with the people sick by reason of the poisoned waters, lo and behold: the 4th Vial:

And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.” – Rev. 16:8-9

At the loss of bodily comfort and beauty, in the 1st Vial, and the loss of clean waters and fish for food, at the 2nd and 3rd Vials, the inhabitants of earth might encourage themselves in the hope of lifelong sustenance in the thought of being able to fill reservoirs with rain water and produce sufficient food by good crops and fruitful seasons. God, observing this, moves to cut off this depraved and hurtful positivity by pouring out upon the people the 4th Vial whereby, it would seem, the protective greenhouse effect of the atmosphere is being destroyed like a garment waxes old and perishes or like smoke that is vanishing away!

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.” – Isa. 51:6

Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:” – Ps. 102:25-26

Hereby, with the removal of the atmosphere from acting as a heat-shield, the crops of farmlands will be wasted under the scorching heat of the sun! So, the hope of an enduring food and water source on earth grows bleak! That’s the plan, my reader. God wants the hellishly happy people of Babylon to be unhappy, and so consider their ways (Isa. 1:19)! Therefore, in one sense, the hope of an enduring future of Babylonian Happiness is under siege! However, if this was a normal case, or if the Babylonians were a nominal and ordinary people, the filthy dream of Babylonian Prosperity would be losing life and vitality upon the mind of earth’s inhabitants at such a time as this. On the contrary, the Babylonians are taking it personally! Can you believe it? Their pride is hurt. So, at every act of divine judgment the people grow more angry and vengeful with God! Even worse, they open their mouths wide to vent bitter and accusatory blasphemies against God!

The sun, being plagued, scorches the people with blistering rays of harmful radiation. The bodies of young men breakout into fevers, while the bodies of old men die of heat-stroke. Ah, the ecological canopy of goodness is gone! The hell-bent people are indebted to their Creator, whom they hate! This is the fourth step in the progressive destruction of the earth. However, as stated before, the aim of God is not to destroy the earth! From the vantage point of strategic warfare, Babylon’s World is being destroyed in hopes that the Babylonians would realize the goodly opportunity that is before them: surrender. This is the unmistakable message of the 5 Vials, my reader! Surrender or die. In other words, Heaven Besieges Earth!

How did Babylon react to the message? Obstinately. Speaking of this, it was written, “men…blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give Him glory” (Rev. 16:9). The inspired account of futurity pauses to observe how Babylon responds to the Vials indicating the existence of sincere hopefulness in the heart of God that the people would repent, for indeed they should repent, and this also justifies the tarrying of the Lord in Earth’s Sky… because when He rides forth to WAR there will be no mercy! So, as a 5th step of divine pleading: the 5th Vial.

And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.” – Rev. 16:10-11

Is the blackout from the dimming of the sun’s strength (“the heavens shall vanish away like smoke” – Isa. 51:6)? Or, is the blazing fire of a supernatural essence burning the sky insomuch that the smoke therefrom is blackening out the sky and blotting out natural light (“the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat” – 2 Pet. 3:10)? God knows. Whatever the case may be, I am convinced that this is not the climactic point of outpouring wrath wherein the stars of the sky fall from the heavens as fruit shaken from a mighty tree (Rev. 6:12-14, Isa. 13:3-15, 34:4). This moment will come! But isn’t yet.

In bodily pain and thirst, and with a poisoned belly, the scorched people of earth lose all hope of survival at the blackout of natural light from Earth’s Sky. This is God’s last plea before doomsday! The blackout of the 5th Vial is profoundly destructive and deadly in that it brings darkness upon the Worldwide Empire of Babylon. Moreover, this could mean more than the mere blotting out of natural light from the earth by smoke but, rather, the pouring out of otherworldly darkness that can be felt like that which supernaturally came upon Egypt (Ex. 10:21-23). At this, the Babylonians would be confined in their places and stilled like the Egyptians were made to sit in darkness, providence granting time to the people to reflect and consider their ways. Nevertheless, the grossly immoral people of Babylon will only gnaw their tongues in pain and blaspheme, refusing to repent (Rev. 16:10-11)! The prophetic account of futurity pauses for yet another observation of Babylon’s reaction, and this time it’s  conclusive. Babylon’s fate is hereby sealed. The irreversible judgment is unchangeably decided. God will not strive for Babylon’s repentance any longer. In retrospect of all 5 Vials and as a signal of the divine prerogative moving on, it was written, “they…blasphemed the God of Heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds” (Rev. 16:11). My reader, THIS ANGERS GOD. Even so, more wrath is pent-up, filled-up, and to-be-poured-out in the 6th and 7th Vials! And, shockingly, the beastly people of Babylon are angry too! Hence, The Gathering.
