Revelation 10:1-11:14
At the sounding of the 6th Trumpet we observed something come up out of Hell (Rev. 9:13-21). Subsequently, and necessarily so, then we observe something coming down from Heaven (Rev. 10:1-11). That which came up out of Hell is the essence of darkness, depravity, and the demonic – a summoned army for the implementation of God’s judgment in the Day of the LORD through Babylon. That which is then coming down from Heaven will consecrate a light in the earth, a force of righteousness, a people of godliness – the armies of the Church Militant for the heralding of truth-against-the-lie and mercy-amidst-the-judgment! …all this, in a world offended at God.
At the consummation of Revelation Chapter 10, all things being fulfilled, the stage is set to wit the world will behold The Greatness of God in the Great Tribulation. We read that the end is close, very close, and that soon “there should be time no longer” (Rev. 10:6). Signifying the Greatness of God in the Great Tribulation, though, we observe a mighty angel with a “little book” (Rev. 10:2, 8, 10), “seven thunders” (Rev. 10:3, 4), the sealing of what was revealed (Rev. 10:4, Dan. 12:4), the purpose of the revelation (Rev. 10:7, 11), and then suddenly the Two Witnesses appear on the scene to live-out what was revealed in Revelation 11:1-14; all of this, just prior to the sounding of the 7th Trumpet, which marks the end (Rev. 11:15). Evidently, all things are poised so that at last, “there should be time no longer” (Rev. 10:6), but seeing that this is the beginning of the end, only, and not the very end itself, seven thunders must be accomplished.
We know when the very end shall be in that, it will be “in the days of the voice of the seventh angel” (Rev. 10:7), which is the 7th Trumpet (Rev. 11:15), for then “the mystery of God should be finished, as He hath declared to His servants the prophets” (Rev. 10:7); when the mystery of God will be fulfilled, in other words, this marks the end of the World and the end of time (1 Cor. 10:11). The nativity of Babylon making war and conquering the world is but the beginning of the end, and nothing more. The LORD summoning and sanctioning Babylon heretofore is for the making of “a time of trouble” such as the world has never seen (Dan. 12:1)! However, in this time (of all times) the wise shall turn many to righteousness by doing exploits and thereby many shall run to and fro for the instruction of the knowledge of God (Dan. 11:32-35, 12:2-4)! Albeit, speaking of this, Daniel & John were forbidden in the following manner.
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the End: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” – Dan. 12:4
“And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.” – Rev. 10:3-4
The details of what was revealed to the prophets was in this manner forbidden from being recorded in writing. Yet, as was prophesied, these divinely powerful revelations will be unsealed and lived-out by the Two Witnesses for “a time, times, and an half” (Dan. 12:7) or “a thousand two hundred and threescore days” (Rev. 11:3), which being interpreted is the latter end of the 70th week of Daniel or the 3 ½ years of the Great Tribulation (Dan. 9:27, Matt. 24:21, Rev. 7:14). An innumerable multitude will be converted or perfected through the ministry of the Two Witnesses during this time “of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues” (Rev. 7:9), and the whole world of impenitent sinners will be tormented in the process (Rev. 11:10)! So great a divine confrontation will force the depraved conscience to acknowledge the truth of God, they’ll be tormented at the thought! Scores of prophecies foretell the divine confrontation at hand in the Last Days, like for example when the prophets of old repeatedly foretold the forced acknowledgment of sinners as seen in Ezekiel 20:26, or like what Jesus echoed in affirmation of the same in John 17:21 & 23.
“that they might know that I am the LORD” – Ezek. 20:26, 44
“that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me” – John 17:21
“that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me” – Jn. 17:23
The mysterious performance of these words and all such like unfulfilled written promises or prophecies will be at last performed in both the Gentiles and the Jews in the Last Days, the Gentile first and then the Jew (Rom. 11:11-36)! I mean, so that the congregations and assemblies of the Gentile Churches will at last and finally be according to what was written of old, the Gentile first and then the Jew! Moreover, and accordingly, the Doctrine of the Church shall be realized as it was originally taught; so shall it be done both spiritually, in Gentile Churches, even as it was done in the Land of Israel & Judah, the Kingdom of God, the City of Jerusalem, Mount Zion, and the Temple of God. The Churches of the Gentile Church Age, firstly, and the Jews of the Holy Land, secondarily, represent two different stages of increasingly superior operations of redemption being powered by the same eternal words of Holy Scripture. To understand the nature of unfulfilled promises and prophecies being prolonged from performance, one must understand the Church Defined as it was originally intended by Law, how it was recalled all throughout Holy Scripture when the Law was slighted and the Church was impure, and in what ways prophecy foretells its eventual revival unto the fulfillment of all things. In other words, one must understand the departure of the Glory of God from the Church and its return. According to Holy Scripture, all will be fulfilled in the time period called, “the Last Days” (Acts 2:17, 3:21).
